En Valais, dans le village où j'ai grandi, les marques domestiques étaient utilisées autrefois de façon courante. Il s'agissait d'un signe personnel que chaque paysan inscrivait sur le bois, les outils, les actes, etc. Même les châtaigniers avaient la marque de leurs propriétaires. C'est en m'inspirant des marques retrouvées dans les archives du village que j'ai créé ce drapeau, imaginant alors mon propre signe.

In Valais, in the village where I grew up, house marks were often used by locals. The householders used to engrave them on wooden tools and write them on notarial acts and certificates. Even the chestnut trees in the nearby forest were tagged by their owners. I took my inspiration from the marks found in the archives of my village and I created my own flag.
